Join the Lake Shore Railway Association on May 23rd through the 25th for a rare opportunity to see history come to life! This year marks the 150th anniversary of President Abraham Lincoln’s death. After his death a Funeral Train made a two week journey across the United States to give the country a chance to pay their last respects to the man who had led their nation.

To commemorate the 150th anniversary, the Funeral car has been replicated in faithful detail. Wellington, Ohio was on the original route the Funeral train followed and we have the unique privilege to host its re-creation!

The Leviathan #63 will be the locomotive leading the train. The Leviathan is a beautiful reproduction of a steam locomotive built in 1868 so it will give passengers an authentic 1800’s experience.

There will be four runs each day at 11:00 am, 1:00 pm, 3:00 pm and 5:00 pm with a special night photo shoot on Saturday at 8:00 pm. The trains will depart from the Lorain & West Virginia Railway Station. For more details and to purchase tickets, visit our website at www.LSRA.org or call (678) 648-1005.

Stockyard Express will be setting up an O-Gauge layout inside the station for the weekend. So make sure to stop by and say hello while you wait to ride this historic train.

Adam rode the train last year and participated in the Night Photo Shoot. Check out the video of the ride below.
